Bob Iger Jokes Tom Holland Can Drunk Call Him 'Any Day of the Week' After Their Spider-Man Convo

Earlier this month, Avengers: Endgame star Tom Holland revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he tried to help stop Spider-Man from leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe by speaking with Disney CEO Bob Iger. If that wasn’t amazing enough, he also admitted that, when Iger called him up to talk about the situation, he was a bit drunk.
Luckily for the Peter Parker actor, Iger has a good sense of humor. The businessman recently opened up about the exchange with Holland to Us Weekly at the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiere, saying, “Tom can call me drunk any day of the week… As long as he calls me Bob!”
The 68-year-old executive explained that Holland had admitted when he first answered, “'If it’s noisy, I just stepped out of a pub,'” adding, “He sounded a little giddy, but I didn’t really make that connection until I read recently that he said he was a little bit drunk. But he was perfectly nice on the phone. We had a good conversation.”
Though they had a productive chat, it wasn’t without some emotion. Iger added:
"The reason I called him is I knew how important it was to him and I knew how important he was to us. He asked to talk to me about it, to express how upset he was. And because of how much I cared about him, I called him. And he said, ‘Please, please.’ He [pleaded] with me. ‘Is there anything you can do? Just please, sir, please? Is there anything that you can do?’ I said, ‘Tom, I will try.’”
Not only did Iger try, but he succeeded. I guess a top-dog studio exec, a superhero, and a few pints are the perfect combination to save the day.
