'Avengers: Endgame' Writers Say They Don't Know if Thor Will Appear in 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'

The God of Thunder could be just getting started.
Avengers: Endgame left Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, in a very interesting position. Iron Man and Captain America’s stories came to definitive ends, but Thor’s character was opened to a myriad of possibilities when he decided to hand over his reign to Valkyrie and join the Guardians of the Galaxy.
So does this mean that Thor could be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

Many fans have been wondering the same thing, but it seems that the writers behind Endgame aren't sure. During an interview with Empire Magazine’s podcast, Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely say they have no idea whether or not Thor will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. As James Gunn is writing and directing the third installment, it appears Markus and McFeely are in the dark as much as us.
Hemsworth has confirmed that he would definitely play Thor again. He told CinemaBlend, “I’d play that character [Thor] again. I love it so much - especially if there's something unique to do again with it.”
Putting Thor in a Guardians film would definitely be fun.
However, the 35-year-old actor won’t be filming anytime soon. ComicBook.com reports that Hemsworth has decided to take the year off and be with his family. He explained about his children, “They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”
Perhaps after some family time we will see Thor team up with the Guardians at least once more.
