Kim Kardashian is receiving some serious heat for a photo she posted at an elephant "sanctuary" in Bali.

The 38 year old mogul posted a number of photos from her recent trip to the island, including a number with elephants that she claimed to have been taken at a sanctuary. In true Instagram fashion, users did not hesitate to call her bluff, and pointed out that there was no way that the site the pictures were at could have been a true sanctuary.

Many pointed out the fact that there was a trainer riding the elephant in one of the photos--something that would never happen at an actual sanctuary. The trainer was also holding a bull hook, a device used to control the direction the animal goes and inflict pain.

In addition, the park she was at (Mason Elephant Park and Lodge) posted a picture of her and her husband Kanye West--and they received their own lengthy sets of criticism.

One fan reaction to the photo said "[I]t is important to know that this isn’t an 'elephant sanctuary' as indicated with the items on its back, the person sitting on its head and the knife right hand punctured into the elephants head to control its direction. A real elephant sanctuary is a place for elephants that have [been] brutally tortured."

Kim finds herself under scrutiny on social media pretty often--it's the price you pay when you have 136 million followers.
