Why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Will Be Spending Valentine's Day Apart
By Hannah Wigandt

There will be no romantic candlelit dinners or teddy bears with chocolates for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex this Valentine's Day, due to Prince Harry traveling to Norway.
Kensington Palace announced Prince Harry will be reporting for duty as Captain General Royal Marines in Bardufoss, Norway to check up on how the Marines are training in the tundra, 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle.
“Exercise Clockwork is the traditional name of the annual winter exercise, based in one of the world’s most demanding environments,” said a representative from Kensington Palace told Fox News. “Set 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle in North Norway, Clockwork has trained over 16,000 Royal Marines and Royal Navy sailors and airmen since 1969."
Prince Harry is set to meet with some personnel on base and will get to see a variety of different outdoor training programs, made to test personnel and teach them how to complete different tasks in harsh freezing weather conditions.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the exercise.
Markle, who is expecting their first child in the spring, may be upset about the timing of this trip. She has expressed that she is a fan of Valentine's Day in the past. However, royal duty calls!
