Watch Keri Russell Try Not to Let 'Star Wars: Episode IX' Spoilers Slip

For Star Wars fans who have been looking for any bite-sized crumb of information about Episode IX, Keri Russell knows she shouldn't spoil anything. However, in an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, the actress got grilled about the film and actually dropped a detail about her character.

Russell tried really hard not to reveal anything about the upcoming film, but gave some hints about her top secret role. Colbert first asked her if she knew if the movie had a title yet. She played coy, responding, "I don't even know." The TV host then called her out for lying, claiming she already almost spilled the name.

Colbert went on to ask if if Russell's 11-year-old son was impressed with her scoring the role, to which she replied, "I am not kidding. I cannot impress that kid to save my life. I tell him all the time how cool I am, and he doesn't believe me."

While Russell didn't spoil anything major about the movie, she did confess that her character dons an outfit worth talking about. "I do have the coolest costume. I will say that," she revealed.

When Colbert couldn't get anything more out of Russell, he decided to read her some of his guesses about the movie to see her reactions. "Your character is pretending to be a member of the First Order, but is actually a Russian spy with a lot of wigs," he predicted. Russell laughed and replied, "Very close. Dangerously close."

We'll see for sure who Russell plays in Star Wars: Episode IX when it hits theaters on Dec. 20, 2019.
