Watch Emilia Clarke Star in Commercial Before 'Game of Thrones' Fame

It's always interesting to see what your favorite actors first starting acting in, before they became the famous star we all know today. This is no different with actress Emilia Clarke, the Mother of Dragons herself.

In 2009, before Clarke was cast as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, she played a victim of domestic abuse named Lisa, for a Samaritans charity champaign. Samaritans provides confidential, non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day.

The video starts off with a somber looking Clarke along with the caption, "11 years of abuse." She is then seen crying, and the caption reads, "Lifetime of guilt and pain," as she holds a phone.

A narrator starts to tell people that at Samaritans, they need people 24/7 to help protect people like Lisa. She urges audiences to call the number at the bottom of the screen and pledge three pounds a month to help. The company relies solely on donations to keep their lines open.

Even though Clarke doesn't speak a word the commercial, it's very powerful and no doubt touched audiences when it debuted.

It's not surprising that one of Clarke's first roles was for charity, as she is known to give back. She has since donated and become an ambassador for Anima Foundation.
