VIDEO: Sophie Turner Blames Emilia Clarke for That 'Game of Thrones' Coffee Cup Mistake

Who knew something as simple as a pumpkin spice latte could create such controversy?

Game of Thrones fans couldn't help but notice the Starbucks-like coffee cup that appeared in front of Daenerys Targaryen during last week's episode's celebratory feast after the epic Battle of Winterfell.

The polarizing cup cameo disappointed many fans who saw the mistake as careless on the show's part, while others just found the incident hilarious. However, no matter the reaction, everyone has the same question: Whose fault was it?

Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner has her own theory, which she revealed on Friday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In a surprising twist, Fallon slated Turner's newly-wedded husband, Joe Jonas, to ask the question about the modern day cup. "I watch a lot of Game of Thrones and I was wondering — you’re definitely responsible for that coffee cup, right?” Joe asked.

Turner denied her involvement in the folly, claiming that the photo circulating around of her with a Starbucks cup on set came during the shooting of a different episode. Instead, she pointed the finger at on-screen enemy Emilia Clarke.

"So I’m just gonna go with — I mean, look who it’s placed in front of. Emilia Clarke. She’s the culprit!" Turner exclaimed.

Turner also revealed that the Game of Thrones group chat noticed the cup after the episode aired, too. “There was just one text and it was from Nikolaj [Coster-Waldau], who plays Jaime Lannister, and he just wrote, ‘Great episode. Is that a coffee cup?'”

If Clarke was indeed the culprit for the gaffe, she doesn't mind owning up to it. The Daenerys actress recently shared a photo to Instagram, alongside Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa, taking faux responsibility for the cup placement.

The fifth episode of Game of Thrones' final season premieres tonight on HBO and hopefully, there won't be any modern day drinks making an appearance.
