VIDEO: See Katherine Langford on Set of 'Avengers: Endgame' in Behind-the-Scenes Clip

Avengers: Endgame may have been the culmination of the 22-film long Infinity Saga, but it still left fans with many unanswered questions. Time traveling and other complex aspects of the film confused many, but one question a few fans had was pretty straightforward: Where was Katherine Langford?

News broke last year that the 13 Reasons Why star was cast in the film for an unknown role, but she did not make a single appearance in the three-hour blockbuster flick. Some questioned if the report was accurate, but the Russo Brothers recently confirmed the actress was initially in the film.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the directing brothers revealed that Langford played an older version of Morgan Stark, Iron Man’s daughter.

“There was an idea that we had where Tony was going to go the metaphysical way station where Thanos saw [Gamora] when he snapped his finger. There was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station,” Anthony and Joe said.

However, the duo scrapped the idea, as it didn't receive great reception from a test audience. “We showed it to a test audience, and it was really confusing,” the brothers continued. “What we realized about it was we didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. It wasn’t resonating with us on an emotional level which is why we moved away with it.”

Further proof that Langford was involved with the film was revealed this week by her would-be fictional father. Robert Downey Jr. shared a clip to Instagram of the last day of shooting for the film. And after the actor thanked the cast and crew, the camera panned to the crew, with Langford clearly seen among them toward the end of the clip.

It's unfortunate that Langford's role did not work out. She could've been featured near the conclusion of the second-highest grossing film of all time, but instead got cut due to no fault of her own. But with that being said, it's probably best for the Marvel fandom that the scene didn't make it in Endgame, as it would've been just another confusing part of the movie.
