When Marvel Studios was on the hunt to cast the role of Captain America back in 2010, Chace Crawford made headlines for being one of many actors considered for the part. As we all know, the Gossip Girl star was not picked, and the studio instead chose Chris Evans for the beloved role of Steve Rogers.

What we didn’t know, however, is that Crawford didn’t even get a chance to strut his stuff in his planned screen test.

CinemaBlend reports that Crawford recently stopped by Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to promote his new superhero show, The Boys. During the interview, Crawford was asked by a fan if it was true that he auditioned for Captain America, and if he did, was he "somewhat salty" about not getting the part?

Crawford explained:

“Now that you bring it up, maybe I am! No, I did have a screen test for that back in the day but they actually didn't let me do it because they realized I was on a show in New York for nine months of the year...After nine films you're thinking 'Oh man, I would've loved a shot at that.'”

The actor was referring to his starring role in Gossip Girl, which ran from 2007 to 2012. Though he might have missed out on some serious dough, it doesn’t seem Crawford has any regrets.
