In 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse became the first animated movie in the Spider-Man series, featuring Marvel's Miles Morales. The name of the film, "Spider Verse," comes from the fact that it takes place in a multiverse, including various alternate universes. The film was so successful it won an Oscar, spanning an entire multiverse of Spider-characters into one awesome story.

What no one realized was that Tom Holland was supposed to voice a cameo in Into the Spider-Verse, an idea that really comes as no surprise since he has been starring as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Captain America: Civil War in 2016. While Holland came close to an appearance, however, he didn't end up entering the animated world of Marvel.

In an interview with JOE, Holland explained what his cameo would have entailed: "At one point I was supposed to be in it. There was going to be another Peter Parker [in addition to the one voiced by Jake Johnson]. There was like a scene in a train station or something, and it was going to be like an Easter egg. I was going to walk through the background or something, and say like ‘Hey, kid.’”

Holland still admitted he is a big fan of the animated feature, and even hopes to see Miles Morales jump into the MCU sometime soon.
