First look at Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka for upcoming prequel 'Wonka'

Timothée Chalamet shared the first look of himself in character for the prequel to the classic Charlie and The Chocolate Factory film, Wonka. The 25-year-old actor shared pictures of himself on set of the highly anticipated film, dressed as the young chocolatier and candy maker, Willy Wonka.

Timothée penned alongside two pictures on Instagram, teasing the new film:

"The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last ... ?WONKA?"

Of course, this update threw his 13.7 million followers into a frenzy, the post quickly gathered over 4 million likes, and many of his fans commented their excitement for its release on March 17, 2023.

"I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED FOR ANYTHING," an excited follower commented in response to seeing Timothée in a red velvet coat and brown top hat. While fellow actor, Kiernan Shipka - who recently announced she'll be reprising her iconic role of Sabrina Spellman from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Riverdale season 6 - simply wrote, "OH MY GOD".
