French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who dressed Kim Kardashian and Diana Ross, dead at 73

Thierry Mugler the French fashion icon -whose groundbreaking designs were worn by celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Diana Ross, and Lady Gaga - died Sunday, aged 73.

His death was announced in French and English on his official Instagram account. The cause of his death was not given.

In a statement, the House of Mugler brand described him as a “visionary whose imagination as a couturier, perfumer and image-maker empowered people around the world to be bolder and dream bigger everyday.” Tons of celebrities took to social media to pay their respect to the late fashion designer, who was also behind the fragrance, Angel. Kim Kardashian shared a lengthy post in memory of her friend whom she loves "so much" and a series of snaps to her Instagram.

Former client Diana Ross, 77, took to her Twitter to share her own image with the celebrity designer and confess she will "miss" him.
