You’d think stars of the hit show Game of Thrones would want nothing more but to have a great relationship with the creator of their characters. If anyone knows Jon Snow, it would be George RR Martin, the acclaimed author of the Song Of Ice And Fire series. But apparently, Kit Harington used to hate Martin, but likely not for any reason you would think.

Before Harington played one of the main characters in Thrones, the TV show based on Martin’s books, he worked as a bookseller. And his main nemesis was actually the author.

"I hated him," Harington told Zap2it. "I used to work in the downstairs department of Waterstones bookshop. That was the fantasy, science fiction and self-help section. And yes, I always wondered why they grouped those together.”

"Anyway, I used to have to lug down the books and George's always sold like hotcakes, so I was constantly having to restack them and they were just so heavy because they're so huge,” the actor continued. “I remember cursing him. I've told him this many times. I couldn't stand that I was constantly having to carry down and replace all these f**king books. I'd fill up the shelves and they'd sell out in a day!"

We wonder if Harington had any hesitation to eventually go on and audition for Game of Thrones, considering the man behind the story.
