Tom Hanks on Friends? Hard to believe, right? This really almost happened, Us Weekly reports. Originally, the superstar was set to play Sandy, Ross and Rachel's manny. Oh, what' might've been. The scoop came straight from the mouth of Sandy himself, Freddie Prinze Jr.

“I wasn’t even supposed to be [Sandy], that was originally offered to Tom Hanks but he wasn’t gonna make it back from his film on time,” Prinze told Entertainment Weekly. “My agent called me and said, ‘Do you want to be on Friends? And I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do an episode of Friends. That’ll be great.’ He said, ‘Yeah, it shoots tomorrow.’ and I was like, ‘What?’ He said, ‘Yes, tomorrow so I’ll send you the script.’”

It would've been cool to see the Oscar-winning actor hanging out at Central Perk. Still, Prinze had a day to prepare for a live audience performance, proving that he's the one who is really all that! The early 2000s rom-com king's brief role made a memorable mark with fans and now, we wouldn't have it any other way.

Looking back, it's not that far fetched to think of Forrest Gump stopping by at some point. As Friends grew in popularity, so did the big names who made guest appearances season to season. So the good news is, there may be a star-studded reunion in our future.
