For anyone who needs a refresher course on all things Game of Thrones, all you need to do is watch a particular season of the show and you’re all set, according to Arya Stark. The actress behind the character, Maisie Williams, thinks it might be beneficial to rewatch season one before the upcoming final chapter.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Williams revealed that after she saw the ending of season eight, she had to go back and rewatch the first.

“After reading the scripts I went back and watched Season 1 again because so much of it refers back to that season,” Williams shared. “There are so many scenes that will look similar. And also I watched just to remind myself of the arc I’ve taken already. I wanted Arya to go full circle and try for some kind of normalcy like when she was younger.”

Arya seems to be the only Stark to dramatically change throughout the seasons--both physically and emotionally. But now the little assassin is back with her family in Westeros, a reunion fans have waited for since the beginning of the show.

“There are so many emotions and memories that come flooding back when you’re with your family and the things that you fight for become very different, yet she’s also remaining on this path to try and kill Cersei and remembering her list and getting closer to that,” Williams continued. “So there’s this split with Arya between trying to be who she wants to be — getting back to the naïveté and innocence with her family — and unfinished business.”

We can only imagine the possible parallels to the first season, especially since the fam is back in Winterfell again. Game of Thrones returns on April 14--just enough time to binge-watch the first season.
