"You just don’t kiss them on the mouth that’s it," one commented, while another reportedly called the act "fatal." However, many fans came to Tyler's defense, with one joking, "Careful. All the crazies gonna tell you not to kiss your own daughter." Another gushed, "Oh my goodness she's so tiny and this picture melts my heart!!!"

Us Weekly spoke to pediatrician Jennifer Shu on the matter to get an opinion on whether or not it could actually be dangerous to kiss your baby on the mouth. Starting off by saying that it's "great Tyler is showing love for his daughter," Shu pointed out that, "it may be safest to kiss the baby’s forehead or cheeks in the first few months when the immune system is weakest."

"Young babies can get sick quickly with certain infections, such as viruses that cause cold sores," Shu added. "People are contagious before they have symptoms, so even if a parent is healthy, they could possibly transmit germs to a baby."

Despite the backlash and possibility of spreading germs, we're sure Tyler isn't going to lose any sleep over the post. As he's made clear, his family is extremely happy at the moment with their new baby. As they should be!
