'Teen Mom' Fans Debate if Amber Portwood Should Be Fired After Recent Arrest

Amber Portwood's arrest earlier this month completely shocked fans of Teen Mom OG. While the 29-year-old reality star has a bad history with the law, people were under the impression she had moved on from that life. But now, the question on everyone's minds is whether Amber will continue on the MTV series or if she'll be axed.

In the early hours of June 5, Amber was arrested for domestic battery after allegedly threatening her boyfriend Andrew Glennon with a machete, making him fear for his and their one-year-old son James' lives.

According to TMZ, if Amber is convicted for her actions, she could be fired from Teen Mom OG. "Amber's already on thin ice following her domestic violence arrest resulting in 3 felony charges," they report. In the meantime, fans have been debating online if the star should be terminated from MTV.

Many are calling for Amber to be fired after the alarming incident.

Some are even bringing Jenelle Evans into the debate, as the former Teen Mom 2 star was fired after her husband, David Eason, allegedly shot and killed her dog.

Others, however, believe that because Amber has mental health issues, she shouldn't be fired. "Mental illness is a disability," one person tweeted in response to someone who said it shouldn't be an "excuse for [domestic violence]."

Fans have continued to argue amongst each other about Amber's fate within the Teen Mom franchise. At the end of the day, we'll just have to wait and see if her actions will be met with serious consequences--regarding both the law and her career.
