Had it been up to Sophie Turner, her marriage to Joe Jonas might’ve still been a secret.

Turner opened up about her wedding in an interview with PorterEdit, stating that marriage, “is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be. It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.”

Turner and Jonas were married in Las Vegas earlier this month, in a surprise ceremony that was meant to be kept between friends and family.

Which lasted all about three seconds.

Diplo live-streamed the ceremony on Instagram for all of his followers to see, which apparently wasn't very appreciated by the couple. The groom said during a Jonas Brothers interview with Capital Breakfast that the DJ ruined his wedding. Jonas also poked fun at him, saying, “He did ruin it…I love Diplo, but he loves his 'gram more than a 13-year-old.”

Way to go, Diplo.

Turner does share her husband’s good humor about the whole thing, at the end of the day. She told PorterEdit, “It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny.”

The Dark Phoenix star admits it would have been really difficult to keep it under wraps, but that she would have done it for as long as she could. “I think at some point I would have had to stop saying ‘fiancé,’ but yes, I would have kept it a secret," she shared.

The couple is rumored to have a formal ceremony in France this summer. In the interview, Turner was reserved in her response to questions about the overseas wedding, as expected. A source reportedly told Us Weekly that the couple will still indeed have a formal ceremony in the next few months.
