Some Fans Are Angry Captain Marvel Wears Makeup in 'Avengers: Endgame' Trailer

Captain Marvel had an amazing first weekend in theaters, with fans loving the first female-led movie in the MCU. However, some fans are not so thrilled about her appearance in the new trailer for Marvel's upcoming film Avengers: Endgame.
In the trailer, Captain Marvel is seen sporting a bright red lip, and some are not happy with the idea that the superhero is wearing makeup. Carol was seen with a very natural look throughout her own movie, leaving people online upset with the noticeable difference in her more done-up look in the trailer.
Fans commented that it did not keep with her character for Danvers to be spotted in makeup, with one user tweeting how beautification would be the last thing on the heroine's mind in the face of battle.

Other users got even more heated about the argument, with one user tweeting in all caps, "CAPTAIN MARVEL SHOULD NOT BE WEARING MAKEUP DO NOT F[*]CKING @ ME."
Some called out the way that the choice to add makeup to the character was a sexist decision on the part of the producers.
Okay but can we talk about why she’s wearing obvious makeup? I don’t think I noticed any lipstick on her during Captain Marvel and I thought she looked even more badass for going au naturale.

Despite the controversy from some fans, we're beyond excited to see Captain Marvel in the newest Avengers film, hitting theaters on April 26.
