'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Writer Reveals Film Almost Featured Lando's Brother

With every installment of the Star Wars franchise, fans become more and more attached to each character, and while Lando Calrissian has always been one of the top names on that list, we really don’t know much about his background.
When Solo: A Star Wars Story began filming, Lando fans became hopeful once again; not only was he going to be a central character in the film, but he would be played by Donald Glover (swoon). Many were under the impression this was a chance to get to know his backstory more.
But while we do get to know him a bit better than the 1983 film Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, it turns out there was initially a lot more planned for Lando than was eventually shown in Solo.
ComicBook.com reports that Solo co-writer Jonathan Kasdan replied to a fan’s tweet this past weekend, asking, “@JonKasdan who's this fellow? In a UK Han Solo sticker book,” along with a photo of an unfamiliar character.
KORSO. The muscle in Beckett's crew who died in battle shortly after they crash-landed on Mimban. Korso was in every draft of the script (including an early version where he was Lando's big brother) and every cut of the movie 'til just before lock when he was removed to simplify. https://t.co/Lg92uW9t9f

Kasdan responded, explaining that it was Korso, Lando's big brother who was in early drafts of the film's script but ultimately didn't make the cut. Aw, man!
While some fans are disappointed at the missed opportunity for more of Lando's origins, perhaps we'll get another chance at Korso's introduction with Disney+ in the future.
