Mark Hamill is no stranger to the manic character the Joker; in fact the Star Wars legend voiced the villain in Batman: The Animated Series, and in other various DC projects throughout the years. So if it's anyone's opinion about the recent Joker trailer, it's Hamill's we should listen to. Not to mention he's Luke Skywalker. He knows the ways of the Force.

Hamill took to Twitter after the first trailer for the Joaquin Phoenix-led film dropped to express his opinion. The Star Wars veteran wrote, "A diabolically delicious character + a superb actor + a brilliant writer/director = YES PLEASE!!!"

Hamill is known for voicing a more traditional Joker we're all used to, while this new version by Phoenix in Todd Phillips' film seems to be much darker to say the least.

According to CBR, Joker will mark the first time comics or movies have seen an origin story for the famous Batman villain. The closest thing fans have to knowing more about the Joker comes from Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's 1988 graphic novel The Killing Joke, which Christopher Nolan based The Dark Knight on.

We have faith Phoenix will meet our--and Hamill's--expectations when Joker premieres Oct. 4, 2019.
