Ryan Reynolds Says 'Deadpool 3' Will Go in 'Completely Different Direction'
By Natalie Zamora

As Deadpool 2 did nearly as well as the first film with critics and fans alike, a third movie in the series was pretty much guaranteed to happen. Ryan Reynolds himself even confirmed ahead of the sequel’s release that he would be putting on the suit once again. But the question remains: Would a third film still be as funny as the first two? Even with Reynolds’ perfect portrayal of the Merc With a Mouth, it’s not crazy to be a bit weary of how the series would continue. Even the star himself knows this.
According to Variety’s report of a recent event in China ahead of Deadpool 2’s theatrical debut in the country, Reynolds confirmed a third film is in the works, and touched upon the plans briefly.
“His team was already at work on ‘Deadpool 3,’ he added, but didn’t directly address whether it would be made with Chinese censors in mind,” the report states. “He did say, however, that in the third installment, they were ‘looking to go in a completely different direction,’ saying that ‘often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.’”
As Disney is in the process of acquiring 20th Century Fox, which currently owns the Deadpool and X-Men series, Reynolds’ character might actually be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than later. What this means for the series we’re not exactly sure, however it would be a major change, a.k.a. a “different direction.” On the other hand, the rumored spinoff between Deadpool and the X-Force has been a circulating idea for the third film for some time, with Fox currently owning the film rights to the Marvel team.

There are many questions still surrounding Deadpool 3, but at least we know Reynolds is still 100 percent on board.
