Russo Brothers Address Kate Bishop Speculation in 'Avengers: Endgame'
By Kwadar Ray

Fans were thrilled when the second Avengers: Endgame trailer dropped a couple of months ago because unlike the first trailer, it provided a great amount of information about the film and revealed more characters joining the fray to avenge the lives Thanos snapped away.
At the time, there was plenty to discuss about the trailer, but one snippet that caught the eyes of the Marvel faithfuls was the scene of Hawkeye happily training a young female archer.
Many fans speculated that the scene hinted at the MCU debut of Kate Bishop, a character first introduced in 2005’s comic Young Avengers #1, who eventually took on the label of Hawkeye after learning under the hero.
Literally screamed when this scene arrived in the #AvengersEndgame trailer, and it warms my heart that Kate Bishop is trending. Matt Fraction and David Aja's HAWKEYE run is one of my favorite comic things in recent memory, and Kate's the greatest. MAKE IT SO, MARVEL. pic.twitter.com/AwPZcp1M2A

With the movie out in theaters now, many fans discovered the young archer's identity. Warning: Minor spoilers ahead.
In the opening scene of Endgame, Clint Barton is training the girl, and he calls her "Lila," ultimately ruining fan theories off the bat because as we know, Lila is his daughter. But it was understandable that many fans thought Bishop was being introduced, especially considering we know that Disney+ will be home to a live-action series focused on Clint and Bishop.

So, did the constant speculation that Kate Bishop was finally debuting rub Endgame's directors, the Russo brothers, the wrong way? Not at all.
“No, because I think that’s part of how we want people’s brains working,” Joe Russo told Entertainment Weekly. "Thinking about possibilities,” Anthony Russo added.
“And it doesn’t mean that there’ll never be a Kate Bishop story,” Joe said, noting the Disney+ series, which they know would lead fans to speculate that the character would debut in the film. “There’s a reason that we wanted that iconography in this movie.”
So, we will have to wait for the female archer's introduction later, but if you're in desperate need for some cool Endgame trivia, Lila was actually portrayed by Joe's daughter, Ava Russo. Keeping it in the family!
