Rupert Grint Opens Up on the Difficulties of Life After 'Harry Potter'

Rupert Grint did star in the Harry Potter movie franchise, one of the most popular series to date and one of Hollywood’s biggest successes, but the actor admits that he felt the need to still “prove” himself after it all wrapped up.

Over a ten-year span, Rupert played alongside co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in the eight hit films.

Grint opened up about life after those long years with Harry Potter, telling Radio Times, “I’ve never really been super-ambitious. I think there’s always been something in me, particularly when I finished Potter, that wants to prove myself, but I’m also naturally quite an insecure person anyway.”

Since his days as Ron Weasley, Grint has appeared in several shows and films. The actor is currently starring in the series Snatch, based on the Guy Ritchie film of the same name.

The 30-year-old actor, who started playing Ron Weasley at age 11, also talked about life before Harry Potter.

“I struggle to remember life before it. I think I lost myself a little bit along the way,” Grint said. “With the fame, you’re almost being the character even when you’re not in character.”

This information from Grint comes after he admitted he has no idea how much money he’s earned from the Harry Potter franchise. “I actually don’t know how much I have,” Rupert said. “I couldn’t even really guess. It doesn’t really motivate me too much.”
