'Riverdale's KJ Apa to Play Christian Singer Jeremy Camp in 'I Still Believe'
By Olivia Montine

Heads up, Riverdale fans--actor KJ Apa will be taking on a new role in next year's movie about Christian singer Jeremy Camp for Lionsgate's I Still Believe, according to The Wrap.
The religion-based film will follow Camp's story of love, loss, and the faith that remains despite the tragedies of life. The project comes following the success of Lionsgate's last faith-based film, 2018's I Can Only Imagine. The movie, which stars J. Michael Finley and Dennis Quaid, grossed $83.5 million, paving the way for the genre and possibly inspiring the studio to take on the new project.

The film will be produced by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, the minds behind the 2018 film as well. Jeremy Camp, the real life musician who the film is based on, is a Grammy-nominated Christian singer-songwriter who has sold more than five million albums in his career. The duo, along with their production partner Kevin Downes, will produce their film under their Kingdom banner.
Besides Riverdale, Apa is known for his appearances in The Hate U Give, and has upcoming roles in films The Last Summer and Altar Rock.
Shooting for the film begins this spring with a release date slated for May 2020. We can't wait to see Apa in this new role!
