Veronica Lodge may be taking on a new role in the Marvel Universe.
24-year-old Riverdale actress Camila Mendes is reportedly being looked at for a "small supporting role" in the upcoming Scarlett Johansson flick, Black Widow. Others being looked at for the role, which calls for an actress of color between the ages of 20-25, include A Wrinkle in Time's Storm Reid, Skyscraper's Hannah Quinlivan, and Dora the Explorer's Isabela Moner.

While The Hashtag Show claimed the studio was "still very early in the process," the news of this Riverdale actress being in the running has fans excited.
Black Widow is slated for release in 2020, and revolves around Natasha Romanoff's life in New York City 15 years after the collapse of the U.S.S.R. That means the events should be taking place in 2006, two years after the release of Iron Man and six years before Black Widow joins the Avengers.
While we anxiously await this standalone movie, Avengers: Endgame will be released on April 26. So much was left up in the air by Infinity War, that we can't help but wonder what the new movie will cover.
Regardless of whether or not Mendes lands the role, all of the actresses being considered would be great picks.
