Pete Davidson Biopic: Fake Rami Malek Casting Announcement Goes Viral
By Natalie Zamora

Before 2018, one could say Pete Davidson's life was likely rather normal. Despite starring in Saturday Night Live, the comedian did live a super low-key lifestyle, and was barely a household name. Cue last spring, however, when he began dating Ariana Grande. Entering a high-profile relationship like that undoubtedly changed his life--for better or worse. And now that he's jumped to another extremely famous woman in Kate Beckinsale, it looks like Pete is in the spotlight to stay.
And being in the spotlight obviously comes tons of rumors. But beyond all the nasty things people make up on the internet, one random piece of fake news that has made its way across social media is actually pretty hilarious. Jack Wagner, co-host of podcast "Yeah, But Still," tweeted out a fake casting announcement which claimed Academy Award-winning actor Rami Malek would be playing Pete in a biopic, and yeah, people were confused.

The headline, allegedly from The Hollywood Reporter, claimed Rami would be playing Pete in a film called Swag is Forever. The photo shows the actor with bleach blonde hair and fake tattoos on his chest. After some research just to be sure, we can confidently say this is fake. But a few people on Twitter really believed it.
Jack got responses such as, "Classic post award downturn," "As if pete isnt [sic] still alive?? Wtf," and "Why..?" Basically, no one who believed it supported it.
Wut? We're getting a Pete Davidson biopic... lmao why not a biopic about Carlin or Chappelle? Davidson? Really? lol huh. https://t.co/At99PxPItl

It appears many people have somehow gotten confused with Pete's upcoming project helmed by Judd Apatow, which is set to be a semi-autobiographical film. The untitled movie is set for a 2020 release, and with little details known, a few seemingly believe this is the Rami Malek biopic. Well, we can assure you it's not.
Out of all the gossip out there about Pete, we truly do appreciate this silly story.
