Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man has quickly risen to a prestigious position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his first appearance in 2015, appearing in two solo films, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame. However, despite the box office success of these films and the character’s general popularity, there has been no official announcement of a third Ant-Man film--and this week, Rudd called for a campaign to make one,

Per ScreenRant, when asked by Yahoo! about the potential for a third Ant-Man movie, Rudd said, “I don’t know...You need to make a call to the top brass and start a campaign to make it happen.” According to Yahoo!, Marvel Studios typically signs its stars to six-film deals, with some exceptions (Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth have all appeared in seven films), though Rudd has only appeared in four.

Reports suggest that Ant-Man 3 and a fourth Thor have been greenlit, and director Peyton Reed has expressed confidence that the film will happen, though there has been no official announcement from Marvel or word from studio head Kevin Feige.

A potential new Ant-Man film will have plenty of possible story avenues to explore, between the reunion of Ant-Man and the Pym-Van Dyne family following Endgame, to the potential for Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie Lang (Emma Fuhrmann), to take a larger role. In fact, previous speculation has postulated that Fuhrmann will portray Cassie in a Young Avengers production.

In any case, we’re excited to see whatever news will come out about Ant-Man 3--and we suspect that, if most fans share our enthusiasm, the film will likely become a reality.
