Orlando Bloom and David Harbour cast in Sony and Playstation's Gran Turismo movie

Orlando Bloom is joining the cast of the film adaptation of the popular video game, Gran Turismo opposite David Harbour.

The actor, 45, known for movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom of Heaven has reached an agreement for the Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions movie, which will be helmed by District 9 director Neill Blomkamp, according to Deadline.

While details of the star's role are yet to be announced, the script - which comes from Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin (King Richard) - is based on a true story, following a teenage Gran Turismo player who used his gaming skills to become a professional racecar driver.

Fellow actor David Harbour, 47, is also set to star in the big screen adaptation of the beloved video game franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stranger Things star David is set to play a retired driver who teachers the youngster to drive.
