Obi-Wan Kenobi 'Star Wars' Spinoff Series Rumored for Disney+

Since Disney announced it would be creating its own streaming service, Disney+, there have been loads of rumors about the type of shows they could be making for it. For Star Wars, people have been coming up with their own lists of possible topics. The latest rumor is that Disney+ will feature an Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff series.

Of course fans know Lucasfilm has everything it does under lock and key so while we can't confirm anything yet, rumors are still flying around that the Master Jedi will get his own show.

The rumor comes from Star Wars News Net, and suggest that since Solo tanked, a film about Kenobi was canned. But now producers are focusing on Star Wars: Episode IX and could be pushing the Kenobi film into a six episode series.

They also pointed out that Ewan McGregor was at the premiere for Solo, which may have meant they were going to announce something, and build excitement for the actor to reprise his role as Kenobi.

“I would totally do it, of course,” the actor told The View. “There’s no plans as such to do it, as far as I know.” So if McGregor is on board the rest of the pieces should fall into place in no time.

With the premiere of the Star Wars: The Mandalorian series set for the end of this year and another series about Rogue One's Cassian Andor set to come next year, Disney+ looks like its got its hands full for now. Not to mention the last installment of Star Wars: Episode IX. But that doesn't mean we wont see a Kenobi series in the future.
