Nicki Minaj's Controversial Boyfriend Gets Her Name Tattooed on His Neck

It looks like things between Nicki Minaj and her new boyfriend have gotten serious.

It feels like it was just yesterday when fans were up in arms over Nicki potentially dating Kenneth Petty, who has a long criminal history which includes conviction for attempted first-degree rape and a manslaughter charge.

But Nicki has told her concerned fans--and critics--that she won't leave Petty because of his criminal past. "He was 15, she was 16 ... in a relationship," Minaj replied to a fan on Instagram two weeks ago. "But go awf, internet. Y'all can't run my life. Y'all can't even run y'all own life. Thank you boo."

Now, the two are showing their testament of love. Minaj shared a video to Instagram on Friday of Petty where she asked him, "Did your tat hurt?" The rapper then panned the camera at her man's neck, revealing a large tattoo that reads Onika-- Nicki's real last name.

Social media is abuzz over the new developments in the relationship. Many are flat-out shocked at Petty already getting a tattoo.

Others think it's a total mess.

The tattoo also drew parallels to a previous celebrity relationship.

Usually, we would not hope that a relationship would end similarly to how Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's did. But in this case, we would not be too disappointed if Nicki found a new boyfriend...maybe one who isn't a murdering, registered sex offender.
