New 'Game of Thrones' Fan Theory Says Jorah Mormont is Azor Ahai

With Game of Thrones coming to its series conclusion in just a few episodes, fans are creating theories like wild about what the show's ending will reveal.

One question on everyone's mind is whether or not Westeros will be saved by The Prince That Was Promised, aka Azor Ahai. One new theory suggests that Jorah Mormont could actually be the reincarnation of the last hero to save Westeros.

Ever since Melisandre predicted the coming of Azor Ahai back in season two, it has been a popular topic of speculation, with characters like Jon Snow and Daenerys as front runners of many theories. However, this theory brings an entirely different character into play--and the theory sort of makes sense.

Jorah was given Samwell Tarly's family sword, Heartsbane, in season eight, episode 2. That's where this Reddit theory by user Severian_of_Nessus comes in.

The theory begins with, "The name of the sword is Heartsbane, which has a dual meaning. The first is obvious - it's a badass name to strike fear in the hearts of foes. But it has a second meaning, which can be inferred from the curious wording in one of Bran's visions."

Then the user adds the dialogue from Bran's vision: "And he looked past the wall, past endless forests cloaked in snow, past the frozen shore and the great blue-white rivers of ice and the dead plains where nothing grew or lived. North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks."

The theory continues, saying "Like many things regarding magic and history in the books, the true meaning of the swords name has been distorted and lost over time. It is not the bane of human hearts, but of winter."

While it is a surprising theory, it could come to fruition. At this point, anything is on the table when it comes to the GOT finale.
