New 'Avengers' Theory Claims Thanos is Under Loki’s Mind Control

Everyone knows that fan theories can be really out there and strange sometimes, but while many wait for movies or even just trailers to come out, all they can really do is speculate what they think, or just want to happen in their favorite franchises.

That being said, there’s a new fan theory that has come out about Marvel’s Avengers series. The idea from Reddit user HamBone08 suggests that Loki will be using mind control over Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Theories, expectedly, have been pouring out since the trailer’s release in December, but this new one is the most bizzare so far. As fans know from Avengers: Infinity War, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, was choked to death by the mega-villain Thanos, played by Josh Brolin. But as we all are predicting, death is never really final in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially not for Loki, who we’ve seen “die” before.

The theory goes on to argue that not only is Loki still with us, but he is tricking Thanos, and left the original Avengers alive so he could be the one to kill them as revenge for his New York defeat in the first ever Avengers. The Redditor writes:

“What really sold me on the idea that Loki is the one controlling things in the series is the post-credit scene in the first Avengers. In it, we see Thanos looking at us with a smirk and his eyes are glowing bright blue. This is the only time (that I found) where his eyes are that color. Why did that scene sell me on this crazy theory? Well, when Loki first arrives on Earth, he uses the scepter to control the minds of Hawkeye, Professor Erik, and one of the guards turning each one's eyes bright blue. Coincidence? Maybe. It might be something worth considering.”

Long story short, Loki is actually in charge again. While it would be a pretty cool surprise, it wouldn’t be the type of ending the Avengers series deserves. Plus, the Russo Brothers have already confirmed Hiddleston’s character is dead. But nevertheless, we appreciate the in-depth idea while we wait for Endgame to premiere on April 26.
