More Actors Cast in 'Riverdale' Spinoff 'Katy Keene' in Leading Roles

The world of the Archie Comics is launching a new spinoff of Riverdale that follows four characters as they attempt to launch their dream careers in New York City.
The show is set to follow Katy Keene, still uncast, as she joins up with Josie McCoy of Riverdale, currently played by Ashleigh Murray. The so-called "musical dramedy" will follow the two girls alongside "It" girl Pepper Smith, played by Julia Chan, and Jorge/Ginger Lopez--an aspiring Broadway performer who has a passion for drag--played by Jonny Beauchamp.

It has already been said that if the show takes off as more than just the pilot that it is slated right now, Murray will end her time on Riverdale. And as for the rest of the characters paying a visit to the Big Apple? "If any Riverdale characters come to Katy Keene, they’ll come as their older selves," The CW President Mark Pedowitz said at the 2019 TCA winter press tour.
Riverdale’s @iamamurray is set to star in a new CW spinoff pilot, “Katy Keene.” The show will follow the life of Josie McCoy (Murray’s character) after moving from the small town of Riverdale to New York City.

This development comes after Warner Bros. premiered another Archie Comics TV adaptation, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, last October. Following both show's smashing success, this new spinoff already has a strong following.
We can't wait to see how the small town characters do in the big city.
