Meghan Markle's Best Friends Speak Out for First Time in Defense of Duchess
By Hannah Wigandt

Entering into the royal family was probably scary, exciting, and intimidating for ex-actress Meghan Markle, even without the press' help. The constant following of your every move, reporting on you, and scrutinizing you is what she quickly faced. Coming from Hollywood, Meghan was probably used to this a bit, but she probably wasn't expecting some of her family members turning against her on top of it all.
Meghan's father and half-sister have talked to reporters on sensitive topics a number of times, and rumors have started that a feud exists between the Duchess and her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. Despite the media judging her every move, Meghan has remained silent, largely due to the fact she isn't allowed personal social media or interviews as a royal. She is left without any way of defending herself. So now, her friends have stepped up for her.

Five of Markle's friends have talked to People about Meghan's life and her family, to defend their BFF's character. It is assumed Meghan authorized this exclusive look into her life, but nothing can be traced back to her.
None of the five women are named, so audiences are left to question how true these accounts really are.
In an excerpt from the article, the friends explain they decided to speak out “after maintaining their silence for nearly two years,” because of what they see as “global bullying” of Meghan. They also stated they are worried about her and her baby, due to the stress the press puts on her.

One friend's account of Meghan shines light on how great of a friend she is:
“We had a couple of days together recently. Her husband was out of town on work. In the room she made up for me, there was a candle lit by the bed, slippers, and a robe. We were the only two in the house. It was our time. She made the most lovely meals. She made tea every day. It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she’s wiping them off with towels. How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you—none of that has changed.”
Another friend's story about Meghan's father says he has lied about their relationship, and that he has not tried at all to get in touch with his daughter.
While we don't know for sure what to believe, the accounts are intriguing and detailed. There's been no comment from Kensington Palace on the interviews so far.
