Megan Trainor is Releasing 'Friends' Theme Song Cover for Show's 25th Anniversary

Ahead of the Upcoming 25th Anniversary of Friends, Meghan Trainor will release a cover of the Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You”.
Trainor's cover of the iconic theme song will come out on September 22nd at 8:30 p.m. ET on iHeart Radio’s Z100. This is the exact same time the show debuted on NBC 25 years ago. The Empire State Building will also be lit up blue, yellow, and red as a reference to the colors in the shows logo.

Trainor told Rolling Stone, “I’ve seen every episode multiple times now. I can’t believe they even thought of me to sing this cover. It was a dream come true.”
Trainor explained to Rolling Stone how she tried to make her cover sound "exactly like the original". She actually had he friends and family sing with her on the track.

“I actually cut the vocals in my backyard in my studio, with my little brother, my older brother, my husband, and my best friend. And we were just all laughing and in disbelief. Like, ‘How is this really happening?’ It was a big party, the best night.”
Recently, Trainor also dropped a new song titled "Genetics", which is featured in the Netflix film Tall Girl.
