Megan Thee Stallion Rise to Fame

Megan's mother, Holly Thomas, was a rapper in Texas who went by the name "Holly-Wood," bringing Megan with her to recording studios instead of dropping her off at daycare.

She released her first mixtape, Rich Ratchet, in 2016, along with her first single, "Like a Stallion." Following the success of Rich Ratchet, Megan signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment, a Houston label owned by Carl Crawford, a former baseball player. With this label, Megan released Tina Snow, a 10-song EP named after her alter-ego.

Megan then signed with 300 Entertainment in 2018 and was the first female rapper to ever sign with the label. Following this, she released the single "Big Ole Freak" and a full-length mixtape, Fever.

After her "hot girl summer" meme went viral, Megan released the single "Hot Girl Summer" featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign.
