Matt Reeves' 'The Batman' Script Expected to Be Done by End of Year

DCEU fans have been patiently waiting for Matt Reeve's The Batman script to be complete. But recently, patience has grown thin and fans are wondering what can possibly be taking Reeves this long.

What also hasn't helped is Reeves not making any comment on the script's progression in the past couple of months.

But now, hope has been restored for fans. According to The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, Reeves is set to finish script re-writes by the end of the year.

If all goes as planned, the project will begin shooting in 2019. Reeves said at a Television Critics Association event this summer that he wanted to begin shooting sometime in the middle of 2019, while also discussing important plans for the character.

“I’ve talked about making it a very point of view noir-driven definitive Batman story in which he is investigating a particular case and that takes us out into the world of Gotham,” Reeves said. "It’s very much trying to find a way to do this as something that for me is going to be definitively Batman and new and cool.”
