Considering how comical DC fan-favorite Harley Quinn was in 2016's Suicide Squad, it should comes as no surprise that her solo movie Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be no different. But now, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead has just confirmed that the movie will be "genuinely funny."

Fans have been waiting for any details about the 2020 film, and while talking to The New York Times, Winstead, who plays Helena Bertinelli, a.k.a. Huntress, revealed that the movie will be a very '90s vibe--and very funny.

"In Gemini Man, I’m a D.I.A. [Defense Intelligence Agency] agent who’s been hired to keep an eye on Will Smith, but in Birds of Prey I play this assassin who’s been trained since childhood," Winstead said. "It’s all women and genuinely funny and weird. It feels from the ’90s, in the best way."

When the teaser for Birds of Prey dropped a couple months back, fans got to see some scenes depicting a time frame.

Birds of Prey will follow Huntress as she joins forces with Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), as they try to rescue Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from villain Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
