Just like it is parents’ jobs to embarrass their kids from time to time, it is also kids’ jobs to troll their parents on occasion. Luckily for us, Martin Scorsese’s daughter, Francesca, is doing her duty with flying colors.

People reports that the 20-year-old actor took to her Instagram Story this week to reveal that she was wrapping her famous father’s Christmas gifts in none other than Marvel wrapping paper. She captioned the picture, “Look what I’m wrapping my dad’s xmas gifts in” along with a laughing face emoji. The presents shown were decorated with characters such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and others.

The hilarious call-out comes just a few months after Martin stated in an interview that he didn’t believe that the superhero films were “real cinema.” The Irishman director stated at the time:

“Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.”

Of course, as there are literally millions of people who adore Marvel films, Scorsese received from backlash, not only from fans, but also from celebrities. Even the studio’s president, Kevin Feige, stated of the comment:

“Everybody has a different definition of cinema. Everybody has a different definition of art. Everybody has a different definition of risk. Some people don’t think it’s cinema. Everybody is entitled to their opinion…But in the meantime, we’re going to keep making movies.”

I guess along with presents this year, Scorsese also got the gift of humility.
