Mark Hamill to Voice Chucky in 'Child's Play' Reboot
By Olivia Montine

Luke Skywalker will be filling some very different shoes this year.
Mark Hamill, the actor behind the iconic protagonist of the Star Wars franchise, announced on social media that he would be voicing the horror villain in an upcoming reboot set to release later this year alongside actress Aubrey Plaza of Ingrid Goes West fame.
The movie will not exist in the same continuity as the original films, but fear not--there will also be a television series of the franchise with original voice actor Brad Dourif voicing Chucky. Confusing, we know.
Hamill noted his excitement to take on the new role in a Twitter video when he announced his involvement with the project. Fans should be happy to see him take part in a film franchise again, since--spoiler alert--it doesn't look like we'll be seeing much of Luke Skywalker in any upcoming Star Wars movie past Episode IX.
It’s official, your friend till the end, CHUCKY, will be voiced by the LEGENDARY @hamillhimself! Watch this special announcement from the man himself, and see Child’s Play in theaters on June 21. ? #ChildsPlayMovie #WonderCon pic.twitter.com/0s5Wa20ZlP

In the video, Hamill promised fans that he would "present the character in a way you've never seen him before." While we don't have any more concrete details on what this new vision of the character looks like yet, we have faith in the talented actor!
