Fans have been getting pumped for Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, which officially began today, not only because they believe we might actually get a trailer for Episode IX or even just the title, but because it's a chance to see some of Star Wars' famous actors, including possibly the legacy player, Mark Hamill. But Hamill has crushed many fans' dreams, because he has announced that he will not be attending this year's Celebration.

Hamill took to his ever-popular Twitter to release a statement explaining he would not be attending.

“Wish I could be with you in Chicago- having fun & hanging out with folks who seem like family. I'm deeply disappointed I can't be a part of @SW_Celebration. I know everyone there will have a wonderful time making friends & memories that will last a lunchtime,” Hamill wrote.

And when fans demanded an explanation, Hamill was quick as ever to post a reply.

“I'm working all this week, then travel to NYC Sunday for business, then appearing on Live with Kelly & Ryan/Seth Myers [sic] on Tuesday 4/16,” he said. “Recording voice-over for: Dark Crystal prequel, @ChildsPlayMovie, Scooby Doo, then flying to NYC to do press for @KnightfallShow. Saturday is the only day I'm not working.”

Hamill has been pretty faithful in attending the event in the past, as well as other conventions, so we can't fault him too much for not coming.

Confirmed to be in attendance will be the likes of Paul Bettany, Riz Ahmed, Billy Dee Williams, Forest Whitaker, Alan Tudyk, Hayden Christensen, Peter Mayhew, Freddie Prinze Jr., Jason Isaacs, Donald Faison, Bobby Moynihan, Ray Park, and Katee Sackhoff.

The Episode IX panel is the most anticipated event in the Celebration, and will hopefully gives new insights into the next Star Wars film.
