Margot Robbie Wants Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's Romantic Relationship Explored in Future DC Films

Margot Robbie joined the DC Comics world with Suicide Squad in 2016, and she quickly became one of Warner Bros.’ biggest stars in the comic book movie world.
While Robbie is busy working on Birds of Prey, which will be released in 2020, she has been thinking ahead about what she would like to see happen in the DC Extended Universe.
Robbie wants to continue exploring the relationship between her character, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy, according to a new interview the Australian actress did with Pride Source.
“If you read the comics you know that Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship,” Robbie said. “In some comics they convey it as a friendship; in other comics you can see that they’re actually sexually involved as a couple.”
Although Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy won’t be getting together in her current project, Robbie definitely wants it to happen soon.
“I’ve been trying to – I would love to have Poison Ivy thrown into the universe, because the Harley and Poison Ivy relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the comics, so I’m looking to explore that on screen," Robbie said.
Following her immensely popular role as Harley Quinn, Warner Bros. studio wanted to work with Robbie in anyway that they could, and it turns out that feeling was mutual. After Suicide Squad, the 28-year-old actress began working on four separate projects with one of them, Birds of Prey, taking precedence over the rest.
While this relationship will most likely happen, it is still a mystery as to which movie will feature the love interest. Poison Ivy could join the crew in Suicide Squad 2, or we could see Harley break away from her abusive relationship and find Poison Ivy in the reported Joker and Harley Quinn.
