'Listen to Your Heart's Trevor Holmes Hopes New 'Bachelor' Spinoff Will Ease Stress Amid COVID-19

By now, you've probably heard that The Bachelor is getting a brand new spinoff, and no, it isn't exactly like Bachelor in Paradise or The Bachelor Winter Games. The new show, titled Listen to Your Heart, is aiming to bridge the gap between music and romance, and will feature new contestants as well as some familiar faces.

One of those contestants, Trevor Holmes, might be recognizable to many, as he previously competed on American Idol (and won over the heart of Katy Perry!). As Trevor prepares to make his debut on his latest of competition shows, he has high hopes for the season ahead.

Primarily, the singer hopes the show can help ease stress during tough times, according to his latest Instagram post. "I was going to caption this with a bunch of stuff about how tomorrow starts a new chapter of my life and all that stuff," Trevor writes in his caption below. "And though that is true, I’m mostly just hoping that this show will let everyone tune in and forget about their stress and problems for a couple hours each week. This has been such a crazy scary time in life for everyone. When we filmed this show, we had no idea the turmoil the world would be in when it aired. Proud to be a part of something bigger than me that can hopefully give some temporary emotional relief."

Trevor continued by saying thank you to all his day-one supporters, adding, "I will love and appreciate you forever. Just wanted to say that now before the potential new followers come after air date. I’ll appreciate them too, just wanted to let you know you’ll hold a special place in my heart."

Hopefully some musical magic will indeed be what the world needs right now. Listen to Your Heart premieres tonight on ABC!
