Lena Headey Reveals How She Prepared to Play Cersei Lannister on 'Game of Thrones'
By Hannah Wigandt

A lot goes into playing the evil, manipulative, brother shagging, iron fisted, Iron Throne-sitting Queen, Cersei Lannister. It's hard to believe that the villain can even come out of fun-loving actress Lena Headey. Guess she's just good at what she does.
But with the ending of the beloved Game of Thrones inching closer and closer, Headey and her co-stars have been very vocal about the bittersweet emotions they are having about the show's ending.
Headey has recently opened up about her time playing Cersei and how she has honed her skills channelling her.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, Headey said:
"I do this thing before a take where I just have to have a little minute of getting to the place where I’m immersed in it myself, and I believe everything I’m about to say because there’s nothing I find more uncomfortable as an audience than I don’t believe you. I have to buy into who she is, and that takes a little minute of reassessing everything and blocking out everything else."
Despite loving to play Cersei, Headey is happy that it is over and she can move on to others projects, such as new movie Fighting with My Family.
"With Cersei, it’s been eight years, so that character is big in people’s minds, and now it’s over," she explained. "That tiny TV show. People sort of forget the work previous, which is a very different thing. It’s part of the next life. I appreciate all that success, and if it brings with it the fact that people think that’s it, I’m very happy to show them differently."
At least Headey wont have to wear her dreaded wig anymore.
