Lamar Odom Says He Hopes Khloé Kardashian Will Cheer Him on During 'Dancing With the Stars'

With the announcement coming today that Lamar Odom will appear on this season of Dancing With the Stars, it appears that the former NBA star is poised for a return to this spotlight. Along with this resurgence to fame, however, Lamar is bringing an eye to his past, saying that he hopes that ex-wife Khloé Kardashian will cheer for him on the show.

Odom spoke with Us Weekly today on the red carpet for the series, saying that he hopes that Kardashian will be “one of his supporters.” Over the course of the competition, Odom will be pitted against figures including James Van Der Beek, Karamo Brown, and Ray Lewis.

Though Odom and Kardashian are best known for their rocky marriage and divorce, which saw Odom abuse drugs and eventually fall into a coma, they seem to have established an amiable relationship since the release of Odom’s tell-all book Darkness to Light. Per Us Weekly, Kardashian commented on an Instagram post for the book, “Look at God!!! Congratulations Lammy! Keep shining.”

While the former NBA star has not been shy about his continuing affection for Kardashian and her family, he has not let this stop him from pursuing his own romances, making official his relationship with personal trainer Sabrina Parr.

While we’re not sure how intently Kardashian will be watching Odom’s performance, we know we will be--nothing gets us like a comeback story.
