Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' short-lived marriage, which only lasted 72 days before divorce papers were filed, will forever go down in celebrity history as one of the silliest Kardashian moments. But while many of us find their failed relationship comical all these years later, the former NBA player is now coming out and recalling the tough time he had following the high-profile wedding.

For a feature in The Players' Tribune, Humphries shared the negative side to being in the Kardashian spotlight.

"Look, I should have known what I was getting into," the 34-year-old star said of meeting Kim. "I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change. But the one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say that my marriage was fake."

"I didn’t know how to handle it, because I never thought I was going to be famous in that way," Humphries claimed on their public split, recalling being booed while playing basketball. He continued later on explaining, "There was about a year where I was in a dark place. I didn’t want to leave my home. You feel like … I don’t know … the whole world hates you, but they don’t even know why."

And to combat this negative reception? Humphries confessed he would pretend he was someone else. When asked if he was "that guy," the former athlete would even claim he was Blake Griffin. Coincidentally, Griffin went on to date Kim's half-sister, Kendall Jenner, in 2017.

Last we heard about Humphries, sources claimed in Oct. 2018 that he wanted "zero association" with Kim K. Luckily for him, we doubt the reality star even thinks about her ex-husband.
