When an actor takes on a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they are often unprepared for the intensity of the enormous fandom. Luckily for Kit Harington, he has some experience in that department.

ComicBook.com reports that the actor, best known for his role as Jon Snow on the cultural sensation Game of Thrones, spoke on a panel at the ACE Comic Con this about his forthcoming role as Dane Whitman (a.k.a. the Black Knight) in The Eternals.

In the panel, the star addressed how he is handling the pressure of leaving his post in the North for that of a superhero’s. Harington admitted:

“A lot of people who go into something like the MCU, they haven't had experience of, maybe, a franchise that big. I've lived with Thrones for ten years, I've known a big franchise and something that's created a world and it has a huge fan base. So for both reasons, I'm excited and terrified.”

He continued expressing how much pressure the part will have on him explaining:

“I know the responsibility of actors who came into Thrones knowing that they're playing a beloved character and that they had a responsibility to fans and to people to do something with that character. And for me, looking at this new universe, I'm prepared because I've been part of a universe... but I also have been part of a universe, so I am terrified.”

Harington also shared that, while he is trying to move away from roles like his brooding Thrones character, there are some similarities between Snow and Whitman. He stated:

“I'm going on to play a superhero, which is cool. I don't know what I can say about it, I'm scared to sort of even mention it. I'm trying to choose things as far away from Jon Snow as possible, but I'm playing a superhero and he's got a sword."

We can’t wait to see Harington take on another sword-wielding good guy wearing all black! The Eternals is set for a Nov. 6, 2020 release date.
