Kim Kardashian is working hard to stop the execution of death row inmate Rodney Reed.

TMZ reports that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and aspiring lawyer isn’t just taking time from her busy schedule to tweet at Texas Governor Greg Abbott about the case, but has actually spoken with Reed and is now lobbying for his freedom, with his execution being scheduled for Nov. 20.

Reed was convicted for the murder of Stacey Stites in Bastrop, TX in 1998. According to the Change.org petition to stop his execution, the police said he raped and strangled the 19-year-old woman, but the only evidence they found against him was semen found on Stites’ body. Reed states the two were having an affair, and were together the night before she disappeared. No other physical evidence suggests that Reed was at the scene of the crime.

However, Stites' then-fiancé, police officer Jimmy Fennell, who was later charged of rape and sentenced to 10 years in prison, could be linked to scene. Fennell has also allegedly failed two lie detector tests when he was asked if he killed Stites.

In addition to this already irrefutable evidence, Kim and her team have discovered that a former inmate named Arthur Snow filed a statement with the court reporting that Fennell confessed to him while behind bars that he killed Stites because of her infidelity. Snow says they were both part of the Aryan Brotherhood in prison, which is why Fennell allegedly confessed to him. Fennell has since denied this allegation.

We'll see if with Kim’s influence and power, Reed will get a second chance at life.
