Kevin Feige Says Team-Up Between Spider-Man and Venom is 'Likely'
By Ryan Carroll

As the dust settles following Avengers: Endgame, fans have begun to speculate on what’s next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe--namely, what characters Marvel Studios will dip into following the departure of most of its original Avengers and its acquisition of 20th Century Fox. This week, Kevin Feige gave that speculation new life, saying that a crossover between Spider-Man and Venom might happen.
In a conversation with CinemaBlend (via ScreenRant), Feige spoke on the potential of Tom Hardy’s Venom crossing into the world of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. “I think, probably, it's up to Sony. Sony has both those characters and has Venom in their world,” he said. “I don't know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”

Feige’s comments refer to the fact that Sony controls the film rights to the Spider-Man franchise. While the company collaborates with Marvel Studios to produce films involving the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they have not made such an arrangement with Venom, whose solo film debuted to tepid reviews but considerable financial success.
Sony, according to CinemaBlend, is highly protective of the rights to Spider-Man, and it is difficult to determine whether they would spring at the idea of a crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe or not--especially when they are working to develop their own cinematic universe following Venom. Given the nature of the agreement between Marvel Studios and Sony, however, it is also possible that Sony may develop a film of their own starring Holland’s Spider-Man outside of the MCU.
In any case, we’re interested to see whether Feige’s speculation goes anywhere or not--Venom is such a different movie from Holland’s Spider-Man films, and we couldn’t imagine them really going together, but we’re always open to the possibility.
